Trip discription what to bring and what to expect.

Kalk Bay Train Station - Kalk Bay, Cape Town

Meet at 9am at the station and hike about 1 hour till the first cave boomslang, enter the cave and navigate our way though it to the exit on the other side. When we exit we are greeted with magnificate views over Fish Hoek and the whole south penisula you can even see both oceans!

Contine about 20 minutes to the entrance of the next cave which is pretty challenging! If you can fit though the doorway the rest of the trip is no problem! If you prefer to relax and enjoy the shade under the trees I have a couple of hammocks which make a great reading spot while the rest of us explore the cave.

Once we exit we are treated to a spectacular packed lunch followed by a slow decend back to Kalk bay. When we arrive back at the station a well deserved drink awaits at the Brass Bell with a tidal pool that you can cool off in before heading home.

Meeting point is at 9 am at Kalk Bay Station. If you would like to me to arrange a transfer please let me know which backpackers or hotel you would like to be picked up from and I will send you the pickup time based on your location.

Alternatively the cheapest way to arrange a private transfer without using public is transport is via uber the airbnb of the ride sharing service alternatively you can also use taxify another ride sharing service that operates in Cape Town. If you ask at your backpackers or hotel they may have a transfer service which operates at a discounted rate.

Otherwise there are many ways to get here via public transport the easiest one being to take the train. You can download a free train timetable here. The line runs from Cape Town to Simonstown and is easliy accessable, our meeting point is right beside the station.

Drop off is around 3pm at Kalk Bay station unless we end up sharing a few more drinks at the brass bell. If you have asked for a transfer with me I will arrange to have you picked up when you are ready to leave otherwise you can take the train, self drive or make your own arrangements.

Please bring a change of clothes ideally a long set that you  can scramble around in the caves in and don't mind getting dirty and short set for the hike and a drink at the bar afterwards. A rain coat is always a good idea and I provide a rechargable headlamp for exploring the caves with. Water should be bought along we provide a great packed lunch included with the trip.

We include the guide, lunch, headlamp, beer or other beverage afterwards and a transfer service if requested.

Water please bring your own,

All cancellations incure a R200 booking fee, bookings can be moved to alternative dates once at no charge.
